Dr Corina Buettner
Dr Corina Buettner brings something truly unique to Nuvo.
Whether it’s refractive or medical eye care, Dr Buettner embraces new challenges and is deeply committed to her patients’ well-being. She creates a comfortable environment for every visit and has a natural ability to explain even the most complex aspects of eye health with clarity and ease.
As both a clinic leader and the founder of Nuvo, Dr Buettner has cultivated a trusted space that delivers exceptional eye care and optical services to the Ottawa community.
Dr Francine Gauthier
Dr Gauthier brings a wealth of experience and heart to Nuvo.
Although her healthcare career began in nursing, Dr Gauthier has been practicing optometry since 1988. Driven by her passion, she later completed the Optometric Extension Program Foundation curriculum, allowing her to specialize in Vision Therapy. She now leads as the primary behavioural optometrist at our Vision Therapy clinic in Orléans.
Dr Gauthier also sees patients at our Ottawa location at 156 Beechwood Avenue, and proudly provides care in both English and French.
Her warm smile and positive energy are truly infectious, and we’re proud to have her as a valued member of the Nuvo team.
Dr ANDRÉE MAINVILLE
Dr Mainville brings a special spark to our clinics.
Always smiling and always putting her patients first, Dr Mainville radiates warmth and care. Nuvo has had the pleasure of working with her even before she became an optometrist, and her impact has been felt ever since. She’s played a key role in building Nuvo’s positive reputation and elevating the level of care we provide.
Her infectious enthusiasm creates a fun, uplifting atmosphere for both patients and staff.
Dr Mainville is proud to serve the Ottawa community in both English and French.
Dr TONI RIZK
Dr Toni Rizk is proud to serve the community he calls home.
Born and raised in Ottawa, Dr Rizk brings a strong academic background and deep local roots to his practice. He earned a place on the Dean’s Honours List at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry, after completing both a Bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Organic Chemistry at the University of Ottawa.
With a keen interest in refractive surgery care and disease management, Dr Rizk remains at the forefront of the latest research, technologies, and treatments in the field of optometry. He is also fluently bilingual, providing care in both English and French.
We are proud to have him as a valued member of our team of optometrists.
Dr Zena Skaff
Dr Zena Skaff brings warmth, skill, and dedication to our Orléans clinic.
Born and raised in Ottawa, Dr Skaff is committed to providing exceptional eye care to patients of all ages. She stays current with the latest technologies and advancements to ensure each patient receives the highest standard of care.
Her natural, pleasant demeanor creates a welcoming experience for everyone she sees, making her a valued and much-appreciated member of the Nuvo team.
Dr Jessica Kumar
Dr Jessica Kumar brings experience, energy, and heart to Nuvo.
If Dr Kumar looks familiar, it’s because she’s been part of the Nuvo family for years—first as a part-time technician and optical staff member, then as a resident with our Orléans team. Now, we’re thrilled to have her on board as a full-time optometrist.
Deeply passionate about eye care, Dr Kumar embraces the latest technologies to provide outstanding service to the community she grew up in. Her enthusiasm, positivity, and strong work ethic brighten the clinic and bring smiles to both patients and staff.
Dr Jonathan Wareham
We are thrilled to welcome Dr Wareham and the team from Pupils Vision Therapy & Rehabilitation Clinic—now the Nuvo Vision Therapy Clinic in Orléans!
Dr Wareham brings a wealth of expertise to our team. His academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from the University of Lethbridge, a Master’s degree from Western University, and a Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo. He has also pursued advanced studies in visual dysfunction, learning-related vision issues, strabismus and amblyopia therapy, and rehabilitation following traumatic brain injuries.
His professional development includes coursework through the College of Vision Development, the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association, the Padula Institute, and the College of Syntonics. Dr Wareham is also a founding board member of the Canadian Optometrists in Vision Therapy & Rehabilitation (COVT&R) and is currently contributing to the third edition of the Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation Guidelines for Concussion/Mild Traumatic Brain Injury & Persistent Symptoms (Adults).
Now practicing a neuroscientific approach to optometry, Dr Wareham provides Vision Therapy for patients with developmental vision challenges or those recovering from brain injury. He thrives on complex cases and finds great joy in celebrating his patients’ progress and success.
Dr Emmanuelle Sauvé
Dr Emmanuelle Sauvé is a wonderful addition to the Nuvo team of Optometrists!
Originally from Glengarry, Dr Sauvé completed her Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences at the University of Ottawa before earning her Doctor of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in Boston. Her clinical experience spans diverse settings, having worked alongside Ophthalmologists and Optometrists in Miami, Boston, Alaska, and Oregon. Through these experiences, Dr Sauvé developed strong expertise in diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of ocular diseases.
Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, and playing soccer.
Dr Sauvé is bilingual in French and English and is currently accepting new patients at our Orléans clinic.
Dr Amy Zhang
Raised in Ottawa, Dr Zhang is proud to serve the community she grew up in.
Her passion for eye care began early, when she started wearing high-prescription glasses and contact lenses at age seven. She went on to complete a Bachelor of Science in Anatomy and Cell Biology with a minor in Computer Science at McGill University, followed by a Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo, graduating on the Dean’s Honour List and receiving the VSP AAOF Practice Excellence Scholarship for clinical and academic excellence.
Dr Zhang gained diverse clinical experience through externships in Miami and Ancaster (ON), where she worked alongside Ophthalmologists and Optometrists managing ocular disease, binocular vision issues, and specialty contact lens fittings. She also trained at the Herzig Eye Institute in Ottawa, co-managing cataract and laser vision correction surgeries. Her special interest lies in myopia control, and she offers treatments such as orthokeratology to support children’s long-term vision health.
Known for her commitment to continuous learning, Dr Zhang is passionate about keeping up with new technologies and treatments in optometry. She is fluent in English and Mandarin and speaks conversational French. Dr Zhang is currently accepting new patients at our Orléans clinic.
Dr Jenna Braham
Dr Jenna Braham is delighted to care for the community where she grew up.
A familiar face at Nuvo, she first joined our team as support staff before earning a B.Sc. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Guelph and graduating with Dean’s Honours from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry, where she received the OSI Group’s Vision Entrepreneur Award. Her clinical training includes internships in Cold Lake, Alberta, and Renfrew, Ontario, giving her experience in both rural and urban settings.
Dr Braham provides comprehensive eye care for all ages and has a special interest in treating dry eye. A self-proclaimed bookworm who also enjoys travel and sports, she welcomes new patients in English and French at our Ottawa clinic (156 Beechwood Ave).
