Health & Safety

Please note that if you or a household member have experienced symptoms of Covid-19 or have tested positive for Covid-19, we urge you to reschedule your appointment for when you have tested negative. Cancellation fees will be suspended for any such cases.

Our patient care schedules now reflect the new safety regulations in accordance with the Health and Safety Association. We are committed to reinstating the regular services that our patients are accustomed to.

Because of unforeseen changes to our schedules and protocols due to Covid-19, appointments might need to be rescheduled. We will contact you with further instruction if your previously booked appointment is affected. We are making every effort to get in touch with patients, however, if you do not receive our messages, please contact us to update your contact information.

Our phones are up and running, however we are experiencing an unprecedented amount of calls and cannot reply as quickly as usual. Please expect a delay of 3 to 5 business days for a response. We encourage you to leave us a message or communicate with us by email at (Orléans clinic) or (Ottawa clinic) for a quicker reply.

Because of the preventative measures in place for Covid-19, we are not able to accommodate urgent medical appointment requests for the foreseeable future. We encourage you to visit your family physician or an urgent care clinic for emergency appointments.

We have worked hard to make the clinic as safe as possible for you. Some of the ways we are doing that are:

  • All patients must meet with our Patient Coordinators to check-in so we can properly record every visit.
  • Everyone must wear a mask or face shield to enter the clinic.
  • Appointments are spread apart to complete comprehensive cleanings.
  • Optical services are by appointment only, there are no walk-in accommodations for the time being.
  • Directional arrows are placed in clinic and signage is posted with distancing protocols.
  • We ask that patients come in ALONE for their visit unless otherwise requested. For families, we recommend 1 adult to 1 child visiting at a time to accommodate proper distancing protocols. Please advise us of your needs at time of booking.
  • Staff is equipped with proper PPE.
  • Everyone is required to wash/sanitize their hands before and after interacting with patients.
  • All surfaces are heavily cleaned daily.
  • A sanitizing station has been created to disinfect frames after you’ve touched them.
  • Exam rooms and testing equipment are cleaned and sanitized after every appointment.
  • Common touch-points such as magazines, books and toys have been removed.
  • To limit the number of visits you need to make in-clinic, you can now purchase your contact lenses through Nuvo online here and take advantage of FREE direct shipping for a limited time.
